Eigg is a small island in the Inner Hebrides, lying south of Skye and forming one of the four Small Isles. About five miles long and three miles wide, it combines a compact crofting landscape with beaches, moorland, woodland, cliffs, and volcanic formations. The island is community owned through the Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust, following a community buyout that placed its future under local control.
This is the most Moorish part of Portugal, the rich plain south of the Serra do Caldeirao, scalloped by the beaches and headlands of the Algarve. It is where, in early spring, blossoming almond trees carpet the still-brown hillsides with drifts of snow-like flowers, and the plain white facades of little houses are topped by intricately pierced chimneys that look like ice-cream cones.
North of Sligachan the road first rises and then dips down into Portree - the main town on Skye. With its natural harbor and open perspective, Portree is a pleasant village and offers visitors a fine range of local services, accommodation and things to do.

Antiquity is everywhere on the island of Rhodes, from its cobbled Old Town to a mighty acropolis presiding high over the town of Lindos. Ancient ruins recall Crusades-era occupation and Ottoman tyranny, but today, a rather magical Aegean lifestyle is predominant. Travelers will enjoy excellent food, picturesque beaches, buzzing nightlife, and snorkeling in clear waters. Some must-sees here include the Palace of the Grandmaster of the Knights of Rhodes (a medieval castle), the Colossus of Rhodes statue, and the nature reserve Valley of the Butterflies.
