NEOM is a large region under development in northwestern Saudi Arabia, extending across mountains, deserts, coastal plains, and Red Sea waters. It covers about 26,500 square kilometers and includes 468 kilometers of coastline, placing it near the meeting point of Asia, Africa, and Europe. Rather than being a single city, NEOM consists of several planned areas and projects, including The Line, Oxagon, Trojena, Magna, and the Islands of NEOM.
Nevis, the smaller of the two islands in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, is often described as the more tranquil and unspoiled counterpart to its sister island. Dominated by the graceful silhouette of Nevis Peak, a dormant volcano rising to 985 meters, the island is ringed by golden beaches and lush hillsides.
Split, Croatia, is a city where ancient history and modern vibrancy blend seamlessly, creating an alluring destination for travelers. At the heart of Split is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Diocletian's Palace, a remarkably well-preserved Roman complex built by Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century AD. This sprawling palace complex, with its labyrinthine streets, ancient walls, and grand Peristyle courtyard, is not just a historical site but a bustling part of the city’s daily life.
The Banana Islands are a small group of three islands off the coast of Yawri Bay, southwest of Sierra Leone’s Freetown Peninsula. Dublin and Ricketts are connected by a stone causeway, while smaller Mes-Meheux is uninhabited. The islands combine sandy beaches, tropical forest, fishing settlements, and quiet coastal waters.
The Sacred Valley, located in the Andes and divided by Urubamba River, was part of the larger Inca Empire, along with Machu Picchu and the closeby town of Cusco. Tourists will see green agricultural landscapes and Spanish hamlets like Ollantaytambo and Pisac, the latter featuring a Sunday market. While most travelers understandably focus on getting to Macchu Picchu, the picturesque Sacred Valley is a highly worthwhile stop on any Peruvian itinerary. Cusco, a one-hour flight from Lima, is an ideal base for exploring Sacred Valley, and guided tours are widely available.
