Lake Bacalar
The white limestone bottom of this freshwater lagoon makes the vibrant aquamarine waters look even brighter. This blissful escape is perfect for kayaking or lounging and has smaller crowds than some of the more well-known tourist towns.

Altiplano
The Bolivian Altiplano is a vast high plateau in the Andes, stretching across much of western Bolivia between the country’s major mountain ranges. La Paz and El Alto occupy the northern part of the plateau, while Oruro, Uyuni, and Potosí are among its other important settlements.
