Narok is a town in southwestern Kenya and the administrative centre of Narok County, positioned on the route between Nairobi and the Maasai Mara. The town sits in a highland landscape of open grassland, cultivated fields, and rolling hills, with the surrounding county extending from the Great Rift Valley toward the Maasai Mara plains.
This Mesoamerican archaeological site was an important regional center and capital of the Toltec Empire between the fall of Teotihuacan and the rise of Tenochtitlan. Tula contains many impressive sights, including the basalt columns carved in the shape of Toltec warriors on the Pyramid of Quetzalcoatl.
The South Sandwich Islands are among the most remote places on Earth, a chain of volcanic peaks rising from the Southern Ocean, over 1,300 kilometers southeast of South Georgia.
