Horton Plains National Park is a high-altitude protected area in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, covering a landscape of grasslands, cloud forest, marshes, and rocky slopes. Located near Nuwara Eliya, the park sits at elevations above 2,000 metres, giving it a cool and often misty climate. Its open plateaus contrast with dense patches of montane forest, while streams and small waterfalls drain the high ground.

Wuxi is an industrial and resort city located along the Da Yunha (Grand Canal). Settled some 3,000 years ago, it has long been known for its silk production. Today, Wuxi is still known for its silk industry, which has been revitalized since 1949, as well as for its high technology industries. It is also the center of a rich agricultural area.

Capestang sits beside the Canal du Midi, surrounded by vineyards and marked by the soaring Collégiale Saint-Étienne. Its medieval heritage, canal port and nearby Étang de Capestang give the village a strong identity rooted in water, wine and local history.
