Western Sahara, (formerly Spanish Sahara), northwestern Africa, former overseas province of Spain partitioned in 1976 between Mauritania and Morocco, and since 1979, occupied entirely by Morocco.

Tainan is a historic city in southwestern Taiwan known for its temples, traditional neighborhoods, food culture, and surviving architectural landmarks. As one of Taiwan's oldest urban centers, it contains a dense collection of religious buildings, historic residences, markets, and former administrative sites. The city is generally low-lying, with coastal plains extending westward toward the Taiwan Strait.

Some of Cuba's most famous musicians were born here, as well as the Bacardi brand of spirits, and the UNESCO World Heritage describes the local citadel of San Pedro de la Roca as "the most complete, best-preserved example of Spanish-American military architecture."
