Boppard, the pearl of the Rhein, gets its nickname from the fact that it is situated on part of a horse-shoe ben in the Rhein, resembling a pearl in an oyster shell. This bend is one of the most severe anywhere on the Rhein, so much so that the town frontage faces due north while the vineyards, one the same band face due south. The bend is also known as the "bendiest bend on the Rhein."

Khongoriin Els is one of the largest sand dune systems in Mongolia's Gobi Desert, located within Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park in Ömnögovi Province. The dunes extend across a broad desert landscape between rocky mountains and dry plains, with some ridges rising more than 200 meters above the surrounding ground. Wind continually reshapes the sand, creating long lines and shifting slopes across the desert.

The Bow River is one of Alberta’s best-known waterways, flowing from the Canadian Rockies through Banff National Park before continuing across the foothills and plains toward Calgary. Its headwaters are fed by glaciers and mountain snow, giving the river a cold, clear character and connecting high alpine landscapes with the prairie environment downstream.
