Tamarindo Beach is a Pacific coastal destination in Guanacaste Province on Costa Rica's northwestern coast. The beach stretches along a broad bay bordered by tropical vegetation, estuaries, and low coastal hills. Tamarindo is part of the Las Baulas Marine National Park area, which protects important coastal and marine habitats nearby.

Some of the most spectacular scenery is found on a trip to the San Juan Islands. No wonder. This 100-million-year-old mountain range turned archipelago, located a few miles northwest of Seattle, changes dramatically with the tide. There are 743 islands at low tide--and 428 at high tide.

The Sacred Valley, located in the Andes and divided by Urubamba River, was part of the larger Inca Empire, along with Machu Picchu and the closeby town of Cusco. Tourists will see green agricultural landscapes and Spanish hamlets like Ollantaytambo and Pisac, the latter featuring a Sunday market.

Also known as Canton, it is located adjacent to Hong Kong, an important industrial and trade center in South China.

Sanremo is a coastal city in northwestern Italy. Its green spaces include the park of Villa Ormond, with a Japanese garden, palm trees and ancient olive groves.
