Xi’an, located in central China’s Shaanxi Province, served as the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and was the capital of 13 imperial dynasties. Its long history is most famously represented by the Terracotta Army, an underground army of life-sized warriors discovered in 1974. Each figure has distinct facial features, hairstyles, and armor, designed to protect Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife.

Pebble Island is one of the larger islands in the northern part of the Falkland Islands, known for its open landscapes, long beaches, rocky shores, and low hills. The island stretches across a varied terrain of grassland, peat, freshwater ponds, and coastal cliffs, with several bays providing sheltered areas for wildlife. A small settlement serves as the island’s main community, while much of the surrounding land remains open and lightly developed.

Berat, set along the Osum River in central Albania, is a city shaped by centuries of continuity and coexistence. Known as the City of a Thousand Windows, its white Ottoman-era houses climb the hillside toward a hilltop fortress, creating a striking and harmonious skyline.

Theth is a mountain village in northern Albania, set within the rugged Albanian Alps and surrounded by steep limestone peaks, wooded slopes, and narrow valleys. The settlement lies inside Theth National Park, where traditional stone houses and small farms are scattered along the valley floor. Theth is known for its dramatic mountain scenery and its role as a starting point for hiking routes through the Accursed Mountains.

In the newer area you will find excellent hotels, chic shops, and good restaurants. Near the old downtown commercial center, behind the Catedral Metropolitana, and a block off Central Park, the Central Market where everything made or produced in the country is sold.
