An island in the Strait of Mackinac where Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet at the northern tip of the State of Michigan.

Salisbury Plain is a broad coastal area on the northwest side of South Georgia, backed by steep mountains and glaciers. Its open shoreline is particularly notable for the large Antarctic fur seal population that gathers here, making it one of the island’s important wildlife viewing sites. The plain lies along the Bay of Isles, where beaches, tussock-covered slopes, snowfields, and rugged peaks create a varied landscape. Access is generally by expedition vessel.

Tarascon, on the east bank of the Rhone River, is best known for its medieval appearance and historical edifices. Collegiate Sainte-Marthe (St Martha's Collegiate Church) was built in the 12th century in honor of the city's patron saint, St. Martha. Nearby, the castle of King René stands right on the banks of the Rhône.

The capital of Crete, Heraklion is a Greek port city and a popular stop on Mediterranean and Greek cruises. The city is an historical marvel, replete with archaeological wonders and remnants of the region's past. Highlights include the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, the Rocca a Mare Fortress, the Venetian Loggia, and just past the city limits, the Palace of Knossos.

In Athens, visitors can stand at the foot of the Acropolis and look up at the Parthenon, built more than 2,400 years ago, then walk a few blocks to modern cafes buzzing with conversation and music.
