Founded in the 1st century this ancient city featured prominently in the Silk Road. It is known as the hub of theology and culture in central Asia while still featuring many beautifully preserved historic sites - including the Ark of Bukhara and Samanid Mausoleum.

Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, is a city where time seems to have paused in the mid-20th century. Known for its remarkably preserved Italian modernist architecture, the city has earned recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Ascension island, British dependency of St. Helena, in the South Atlantic Ocean, about midway between Africa and South America and 700 miles northwest of St. Helena. The small, volcanic island was sighted by the Portuguese in 1501, but it was uninhabited until the exile of Napoleon to St. Helena in 1815.

A tributary of the Rhine, the Moselle River flows through France, Luxembourg and Germany. The Moselle also lends its name to a region of France, a valley which it bisects, and a wine produced along its banks.

Palm Beach, southeastern Florida, on the northern end of a barrier island situated between Lake Worth (a lagoon) and the Atlantic Ocean; incorporated 1911. It has a subtropical climate and is a fashionable and luxurious winter resort. The town is named for its palm-lined beach.
