The Dordogne River flows from the mountains of Auvergne to Bordeaux through the magnificent French countryside. Fernando de Noronha is a volcanic archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, belonging to the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. The archipelago consists of 21 islands and islets, with only the main island permanently inhabited. Much of the land and surrounding sea is protected through the Fernando de Noronha Marine National Park and the Fernando de Noronha Environmental Protection Area.

Montgomery, capital of Alabama and seat of Montgomery County, a port on the Alabama River, in the central part of the state. Montgomery is the site of Alabama State University (1874), Auburn University at Montgomery (1967), Huntingdon College (1854), Troy State University at Montgomery (1966), Faulken University (1942), and a junior college.

Cachi is a small mountain town in Argentina’s Salta Province, set in the northern Calchaquí Valleys at more than 2,000 meters above sea level. Its historic center has cobbled streets, raised sidewalks, adobe buildings, and a central square surrounded by traditional architecture. The town sits beneath the peaks of the Nevado de Cachi and among stands of tall cardon cacti, creating a distinctive highland landscape.
