Tonto National Forest covers a large area of central Arizona, stretching across desert lowlands, rugged mountains, pine forests, and river corridors north and east of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Its varied elevation creates several distinct landscapes within one forest, from saguaro-filled Sonoran Desert to ponderosa pine country around the Mogollon Rim.

Spain offers a wide range of experiences shaped by centuries of layered history and regional diversity. From the Moorish palaces of Andalusia to the Roman aqueduct in Segovia and the Gaudí-designed landmarks of Barcelona, each city reflects a different chapter in Spain’s past. In Granada, the Alhambra still stands as a masterpiece of Islamic architecture, with detailed carvings, hidden courtyards, and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Karpathos is marked by the peculiar Karpathian houses, built of carved stone, full of embroidery and characteristic interior decorations. From Pigadia you may visit Kyra Panagia, a picturesque bay with a marvelous beach and a monastery of the same name. A little further, on the northern promontory of Karpathos, lies the Diafani village; on the nearby little island of Saria we see Palatia, with ruins of the ancient city of Nisyros.

Connemara National Park lies in County Galway in western Ireland, near the village of Letterfrack. The park protects a broad landscape of mountains, western blanket bog, heath, grassland, woodland, and lakes, covering more than 2,000 hectares. Several of its peaks form part of the Twelve Bens range, including Benbaun, the highest mountain in County Galway.

An essential passageway between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the Panama Canal is an extraordinary technological landmark and a testament to human innovation. Built in the early twentieth century by American engineers, the canal weaves through the Panamanian isthmus and allows easy access for commercial freighters and cruise ships alike.
