Guanajuato, a UNESCO World Heritage City nestled in the mountains of central Mexico, is a place where history is built into every hillside alley and underground tunnel. Today, visitors can still tour La Valenciana Mine, where centuries-old tunnels and original mining equipment offer a glimpse into the city's wealth-driven past. The nearby Templo de San Cayetano, built by mine owners in the mid-1700s, is a stunning example of baroque design, lined with gilded altars and intricate woodwork.

Saint Guirec was a Gallic monk who evangelized Perros Guirec in the 6th century. Known primarily as a health and tourist resort, Perros-Guirec is set on the stunning pink granite coast. Explore Trestraou Beach with its fabulous pink rock formation or the beach of Ploumanac'h where St.Guirec is buried. Perros-Guirec also is host to one of the main bird reserves.

Île des Pins, often referred to as the "Island of Pines," is a serene paradise located in New Caledonia. Karpathos is marked by the peculiar Karpathian houses, built of carved stone, full of embroidery and characteristic interior decorations. A little further, on the northern promontory of Karpathos, lies the Diafani village; on the nearby little island of Saria we see Palatia, with ruins of the ancient city of Nisyros.
