Launceston is a city in northern Tasmania, Australia, positioned where the Tamar, North Esk, and South Esk rivers meet. It serves as one of the island’s main urban centers and is known for its well-preserved streetscapes, public parks, and proximity to agricultural regions.

Many consider this the prettiest town in Holland, with its well preserved 15th to 17th century buildings.

Founded in 1721 by mainland Chinese, it is the third largest city in Taiwan. Occupied by Japanese from 1895-1945, it totally leveled and rebuilt. With many museums, gardens and universities, it is considered the cultural center of Taiwan.
