Founded in the 7th century BC, the city of Durres has been conquered by many invading armies. Although most of these left a few traces in the old town of Durres, the main attraction is the excellent beach near the town. Perhaps the most famous of Albanian beaches, it offers shallow waters close to the shore, which makes it very suitable for families and children.

The Olympic Peninsula occupies the far northwest corner of Washington State, where mountains, rainforest, and coastline meet within a relatively compact area.

Krong Battambang is a riverside city in northwestern Cambodia, known for its preserved colonial-era architecture, rice-growing countryside, and long connection to Cambodian arts and education.

Nordfjordeid is a town in Vestland county, western Norway, situated at the end of the Eidsfjorden branch of the larger Nordfjord. Surrounded by steep mountains, fertile valleys, and deep fjord waters, it serves as the administrative center of Stad Municipality.

Llandudno has two beaches on either side of the town. The quieter West Shore with it's sandy beach has a view of the Conwy Estuary, Isle of Anglesy and Puffin Island, site of a Cistercian monastery. Spanning over two miles of the crescent bay is the North Shore. On the pier there are places of amusement including Professor Peabody's Playplace containing supervised activities for the children. On the opposite side is Craig-Y-Don, a paddling pool for the toddlers.
