In Brussels, the Grand Place sets the stage for history and architecture in one square lined with ornate guild halls. The city is also home to the European Union’s headquarters, surrealist painter René Magritte’s former house, and a lively comic book trail that winds through murals of Tintin and other Belgian icons.

Mytilene, ancient Greek city, the capital of Lésvos (Lesbos), an island in the Aegean Sea. It was colonized in early times by the Aeolians and is known as the birthplace of the poet Sappho and the philosopher Theophrastus. The city became a great naval power and established colonies in Mysia and Thrace.

A popular resort area with a white sandy bay, Jaco is a quiet place. Approximately a one hour and 45 minute drive from San Jose.

Upolu is the more populated of Samoa’s two main islands and is home to Apia, the country’s capital and principal urban center. The island stretches from volcanic mountains in the interior to a deeply indented coastline of bays, beaches, and coral reefs. Lush vegetation covers much of the landscape, with villages, plantations, and gardens occupying the lower slopes and coastal areas.

Hanalei is located on the North central coast of Kauai Island. Near the head of Hanalei Bay, the village is in scenic and fertile Hanalei or Hanohano Valley, one of the states few rice producing regions.
