Sète is a lovely port city in southern France, often called the "Venice of Languedoc" because of its many canals. The old port area is full of history and charm, making it a great place to explore. Visitors can stroll along the canals while observing the daily activities of fishermen and admire the array of boats moored along the quays.
Kalbarri is a coastal town, set alongside the Murchison River. The coastline around Kalbarri is wonderful and has quite a history, with several shipwrecks along the shore. There is a fabulous cycle path along the coastline and coastal clifftops, including Eagle Gorge, Natural Bridge, Pot Alley, Rainbow Valley and Red Bluff. There is also fantastic surf at Jakes Corner.
Gosier, the largest tourist area, has the works - casino, resort hotels, scalloped sandy coves and an original village center which has managed to retain its local character.
Sliema is a coastal town on Malta’s northeastern shore, facing Valletta across Marsamxett Harbour. Once a small fishing community, it has developed into one of Malta’s main residential, commercial, and waterfront areas. The coastline is lined with apartment buildings, hotels, cafés, shops, and a long promenade that follows the rocky shore toward neighboring St Julian’s. Amboy is a small desert community in San Bernardino County, California, located along the historic U.S. Route 66 in the Mojave Desert. The settlement sits near Amboy Crater, a broad volcanic cinder cone rising from a largely open lava field. Its isolated location and surviving roadside structures provide a clear sense of the distances once traveled by motorists crossing the desert.
