Molokai, island, in Kalawao County, administered by Maui County, central Hawaii, between Oahu and Maui islands, known as the Friendly Island. On the southern coast of Molokai is the port of Kaunakakai. The island rises to 1512 m (4961 ft) in the east at Kamakou Peak. Pineapples, coffee, and cattle are raised. In 1873Father Damien, the Belgian Roman Catholic missionary, began his work in the leper colony of Kalawao on the Kalaupapa Peninsula of northern Molokai.

Fairbanks is the largest city in Alaska’s Interior and a major center for the region’s communities, education, transportation, and commerce. Located along the Chena River, it lies north of Denali National Park and south of the Arctic Circle. The city is known for dramatic seasonal changes, including long summer days and extended winter darkness.

The capital of Texas, Austin is located in the south-central area. It was named the capital of the Republic of Texas in 1839. The main campus of the University of Texas is located here, founded in 1881.

The River Ganges, flowing through India and Bangladesh, supports millions of people living in the river basin. In Hinduism, the river is considered the most sacred, and as a result it is in important element of many Hindu rituals and festivals.

The car-less village of Murren is surrounded by the mountain peaks of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau, all soaring over 13,000 feet.
