If you are travelling to Tasmania on the Spirit of Tasmania, then Devonport will be your first port of call. On arriving at Tasmania the first thing you will see, will probably be the Mersey Bluff and the Bluff Lighthouse. Along with passenger ferries, the port is still active with the exportation of products from north Tasmania.

In southern Cyprus, this ancient area includes the Kolossi Castle, Kourion Basilica and Museum, and many other historical sites.

Kalbarri is a coastal town, set alongside the Murchison River. The coastline around Kalbarri is wonderful and has quite a history, with several shipwrecks along the shore. There is a fabulous cycle path along the coastline and coastal clifftops, including Eagle Gorge, Natural Bridge, Pot Alley, Rainbow Valley and Red Bluff. There is also fantastic surf at Jakes Corner.

Manaus, capital of Brazil’s Amazonas state, is a city that rises unexpectedly from the rainforest. Once the center of the global rubber boom in the late 1800s, Manaus still holds onto that legacy with surprising elegance. The Teatro Amazonas, an opulent opera house imported piece by piece from Europe, sits at the heart of the city, its pink façade and domed roof tiled in the colors of the Brazilian flag. Today, it hosts concerts, festivals, and curious visitors eager to step back in time.

Danco Island also offers a close look at how Antarctic wildlife uses a small ice-covered island. Gentoo penguins establish colonies on rocky and snow-free areas, while the surrounding channel provides access to feeding grounds. The island’s exposed slopes and summit can be windy, and snow conditions may vary considerably between visits. Its compact landscape means that even a short excursion can reveal glaciers, mountains, sea ice, seabirds, and penguin colonies within a relatively small area.
