Whangarei sits at the head of a sheltered harbour in Northland, shaped by Māori settlement and later maritime trade.

King Island was discovered in 1798, and was a preferred breeding area for sea elephants and seals. Around the island are many shipwrecks, caused by the rough seas of the Bass Strait.

Killington, Vermont is best known for its ski resort, the largest in the eastern United States, but the town offers more than just winter slopes. It was one of the first ski areas in the country to adopt snowmaking technology in the 1960s, and it continues to operate one of the longest ski seasons in North America, sometimes stretching from October into May.

This city is the last stop on one of the busiest artificial waterways in the world, the Kiel Canal. It is an important base for the German Navy and famous for its international sailing event, the "Kieler Woche", an annual sailing event that attracts millions of people around the world.

León, Nicaragua serves as the country’s capital for more than two centuries and still feels like the intellectual and political heart of Nicaragua. The city is known for its revolutionary past, visible in murals that stretch across building walls, telling stories of resistance, poets, and everyday citizens. The Cathedral of León, the largest in Central America and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dominates the central square.
