It is located 46 km from the city of Oaxaca. Mitla is famous because of its important archaeological zone, which has extraordinary constructions and a museum where valuable pieces of the Zapoteca culture are exhibited. Other interesting places you can visit in this town are the San Pablo Mitla Church and the Market of Handicrafts where beautiful textile works are sold.
Tinghir is an oasis town in southeastern Morocco, set between the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas mountains at the entrance to the Todra Valley. The town is surrounded by an extensive palm grove where date palms, gardens, and small agricultural plots follow the Todra River. Its traditional earthen buildings and kasbahs rise above the greenery, creating a clear contrast with the dry mountain slopes nearby.
The 300 square mile Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve is reached by taking the Georgeville turnoff at mile 65 of the Western Highway. After going through miles of tropical jungle you will be in a forest of tall pines growing amongst wildflowers and grasses. The area has whitewater rivers, waterfalls and cave systems.
