Labuan Bajo is a coastal town on the western tip of Flores in East Nusa Tenggara, facing the waters between Flores and Sumbawa. It serves as the main gateway to Komodo National Park and is also a center for travel across western Flores. The town sits beside a sheltered harbor surrounded by small islands, dry hills, and coastal landscapes.
Bako National Park is a treasure for nature lovers. Just off the coast of Borneo, it’s one of the top places to experience Malaysia’s incredible wildlife up close. Hike through dense jungle trails and winding mangrove forests, where you might spot rare proboscis monkeys, bearded pigs, and flashes of color from tropical birds
The Blue Mountains form Jamaica’s highest mountain range, rising across the eastern part of the island between Kingston, Saint Andrew, Saint Thomas, and Portland. The range is known for steep ridges, deep valleys, cloud forest, waterfalls, and cool mountain conditions that contrast with Jamaica’s coastal plains. Blue Mountain Peak is the highest point on the island, while numerous smaller communities and farms occupy the slopes.
Trabzon was founded in the 7th century B.C. by Milletain colonists. On entering the city, on a green hill descending to the sea, is a well-preserved 13th century Byzantine church, now the Avasofya Museum. The walls of this church are decorated with frescoes, some of the finest examples of Byzantine craftmanship. The higher part of the city, the old quarter, inside the still extant fortifications with its timber houses, should be visited.
