Erg Chigaga is a remote field of large sand dunes in southeastern Morocco, extending across the Sahara near M'Hamid El Ghizlane in the Drâa Valley. It is one of the country’s largest dune areas, with sand ridges spread across a broad desert landscape far from major settlements. Tozeur is an oasis city in southwestern Tunisia, located on the northern edge of the Sahara near the vast salt lake of Chott el-Jerid. Its extensive date-palm groves create a green belt around a city otherwise surrounded by dry plains and desert landscapes. Tozeur is especially recognized for its distinctive brick architecture, with geometric patterns formed from small, locally made bricks decorating walls and gateways.

San Simeon is a small coastal community on California’s Central Coast, set along the Pacific Ocean between Cambria and Big Sur. The area is known for rugged shoreline, coastal grasslands, forested hills, and offshore rocks, with the Santa Lucia Mountains rising inland.
