Antigua and Barbuda is an independent island state in the West Indies, in the eastern Caribbean Sea. It consists of three of the Leeward Islands.

A series of gates surrounds the two centers of ancient, medieval Fez (sometimes spelled Fes). The principal axes link the center to the gates and a street surrounds the heart of the old city. The Kairouan quarter, which is longer, is crossed by an artery. Narrow, tortuous pedestrian streets, covered passages, stairs and numerous dead-ends make up the dense layout with few urban squares.

Nicaragua is the largest republic of Central America. The capital and largest city is Managua. Nicaragua has highlands; several mountain ranges; and a great basin, or depression, containing two lakes, Lake Nicaragua, the largest in Central America, and Lake Managua. The two are connected by the Tipitapa River.
