A lesser-known river port in the Mekong Delta, Sa Dec was once the capital of Dong Thap province of southern Vietnam. Today, it is best known for its flower gardens and authentic bustling market. The city is also famous as the setting for French writer Marguerite Duras' 1984 novel, The Lover, and its 1991 film adaptation of the same name.

Kochi (formerly Cochin), is a port city on the southwest coast of India and is a frequent stop for cruise ships. Known as the "Gateway to Kerala," Kochi's beaches, delectable seafood, expansive malls, historical sites, and museums make it a popular tourist destination.

Located in the western part of the Yukon Territory Province of Canada, this area is on the Yukon River and famous as the gold mining area of the great Gold Rush. It is still an active mining area and also a popular tourist attraction as it has retained much of the look from the gold rush era.

Nearly 80% of the city was destroyed in WWII. It is now known for its many museums, including the Museum of Tapestry, the Brothers Grimm Museum and Fredericianum Museum.
