Fuvahmulah, part of the Maldives, stands apart as the only island in the country that is both a single atoll and a single island. Unlike the ring-shaped atolls that define most of the Maldives, Fuvahmulah has freshwater lakes, fertile soil, and lush greenery.

Negombo, located just north of Colombo and minutes from Sri Lanka’s main international airport, offers a coastal town experience steeped in layered history and local life. North of Cancun, the island was first discovered by the Spanish in the 1500's. It has numerous Mayan ruins, many badly eroded. It is also a sanctuary for sea turtles.
