Cradle Mountain, located within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, is one of Australia's most distinctive landscapes. Towering over Dove Lake, the craggy peak rises to 1,545 meters and is often dusted with snow, even in spring. The mountain and surrounding area are part of Cradle Mountain–Lake St Clair National Park, which was established in 1922 and has since become a cornerstone of Tasmania’s protected wildlands.

Tenerife is the largest isle of the Canary Islands archipelago. Famous for its black and yellow sand beaches as well as Mt. Teide, the dormant volcano that looms over the island.

Anglesey is an island off the northwest coast of Wales with a history that stretches back thousands of years. Fertile lands and strategic coastal position made it an early center for agriculture, livestock, and maritime trade.

Kalmar Union, combination of the crowns of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, effected at Kalmar, Sweden, by Margaret I in 1397. Because all three crowns were elective, the union could not be maintained by inheritance. Margaret's successors controlled Sweden intermittently until Gustavus I of Sweden dissolved the union (1523). Norway became independent in 1814.

Gamboa, Panama, was originally built to house employees of the Panama canal. The small town's main attractions are its proximity to significant tracts of relatively undisturbed rainforest, and Pipeline Road, considered one of the best bird watching sites in Central America.
