The town occupies the final slopes of the Murge plateau, with the old quarter, known as La Terra, rising above the surrounding countryside. Narrow lanes, stairways, arched passages, and small squares wind between lime-covered houses, while the higher streets provide views across the olive plain toward the Adriatic Sea.
Sandwich, Massachusetts, occupies the Upper Cape near the eastern end of the Cape Cod Canal and is recognized as the oldest town on Cape Cod. Lake Malawi - The Lake of Stars - is an immense inland sea of fresh, crystal clear water in which tropical fish abound. Its shores and the deserted islands which dot its surface are home to a variety of game and an abundance of exotic birdlife. Local fishermen leisurely paddle their traditional "mokoros", or dugouts, across its expanse, and the sun drenched serenity is but enhanced by the shriek of a Fish Eagle or the grunting of distant hippo.
