Anza-Borrego Desert State Park occupies a large area of southeastern California, extending across the Colorado Desert east of San Diego County. It is California’s largest state park and contains a varied desert landscape of broad valleys, badlands, rocky mountains, palm oases, dry washes, and sandy plains. The park takes its name from Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza and the Spanish word for bighorn sheep.
Cusco once served as the heart of the Inca Empire, and that legacy still shapes every corner of the city even as it serves as a gateway to Machu Picchu. Outside the historic center, the ruins of Sacsayhuamán overlook the city from a nearby hilltop. This ceremonial complex is best known for its massive zigzag stone walls, some weighing over 100 tons. During the Inti Raymi festival in June, thousands gather here to reenact ancient Andean rituals.
Willamette Valley is a broad agricultural valley in northwestern Oregon, stretching between the Cascade Range and the Coast Range. The Willamette River runs through its center, while fertile farmland, wooded foothills, vineyards, orchards, and small communities fill the surrounding landscape. Portland lies at the valley’s northern end, with Salem and Eugene among its principal cities.
Mbombela is the capital of Mpumalanga province, situated in the Lowveld near the southern edge of the Kruger National Park region. The city is surrounded by wooded hills, subtropical vegetation, and agricultural land, with citrus farming particularly important to the local economy. It serves as a regional centre for government, business, education, and access to nearby wildlife and nature attractions.
Seclusion is the name of the game on Lizard. It's a large national-park island and surrounded by Osprey Island, Seabird Islet, South and Palfrey islands. Lizard has special historical interest due to Captain Cook's visit. It also has fine diving and fishing possibilities, 23 superb beaches (among the reef's best) and great swimming and snorkelling.

Port Augusta is the perfect crossroads to wherever you want to go. Whether heading west across the Nullarbor to Western Australia, north to Alice Springs in Northern Territory, east to Broken Hill in New South Wales, or south to Adelaide you can get there from Port Augusta.
The busy city was established in 1854 and has a very interesting Outback Centre featuring displays on Aboriginal and Outback history and other interesting things to do. You can also join tours around the Northern Power Station and the Royal Flying Doctor Service, both of which are very interesting and informative.
Heading north out of town you will come across the beautiful Australian Arid Lands Botanic Gardens, with some marvellous walks around the 250 hectares of land. You also shouldn’t miss the Apex Camel Cup held in August/September.
