Beppu boasts the largest volume of hot water and number of hot spring sources in Japan. The city is divided into eight distinct hot spring areas.

St. Moritz, located in Switzerland’s Engadin Valley, has been attracting visitors for over 150 years, long before the term "alpine resort" became common. It was here in 1864 that winter tourism was born, when a hotelier made a wager with British guests that they would enjoy the snow just as much as the summer sun. Located in the Madre de Dios region of southeastern Peru, Tambopata is a protected area where visitors can experience the Amazon rainforest in its rawest form. The Tambopata National Reserve spans over 270,000 hectares and is home to an estimated 1,200 butterfly species, 600 bird species, and hundreds of tree varieties. One of its most famous residents is the jaguar, though sightings are rare. More common encounters include red howler monkeys, capybaras, and giant river otters.
