The Annapurna region of central Nepal is defined by both cultural depth and extreme topography. Home to a wide range of ethnic communities, including Gurung, Thakali, and Manangi peoples, the area has long been shaped by trans-Himalayan trade routes and mountain agriculture.

Founded in the 7th century BC, the city of Durres has been conquered by many invading armies. Although most of these left a few traces in the old town of Durres, the main attraction is the excellent beach near the town. Perhaps the most famous of Albanian beaches, it offers shallow waters close to the shore, which makes it very suitable for families and children.

Chiconi is a coastal commune on the western side of Grande-Terre, the main island of Mayotte. It faces the island’s broad lagoon and includes the neighboring village of Sohoa, with the coastline shaped by beaches, mangroves, and sheltered bays. Chiconi has a strong connection to fishing and maritime activity, while its location provides views across the lagoon toward nearby islands.
