The Snæfellsnes peninsula in western Iceland is sometimes referred to as "Iceland in Miniature" thanks to the many national sights found in the nearby area. The diverse landscape includes fascinating vistas of glistening fjords, dramatic volcanoes, and rugged seascapes.

Agios Nikolaos is a seaside town in eastern Crete, Greece, set around Mirabello Bay and known for its unusual waterfront setting around Lake Voulismeni. The small lagoon lies at the center of the town, surrounded by cafés, tavernas, shops, and narrow streets that rise toward the surrounding hills. The harbor and marina extend the town toward the sea, while beaches and coves are found along the nearby coast.

Brest sits at the western edge of Brittany, facing the Atlantic and shaped by its role as a strategic naval port. Much of the city was rebuilt after World War II, giving it a modern layout that contrasts with older Breton towns, yet its history remains closely tied to the sea.

Reine is a small fishing village on Moskenesøya in the Lofoten Islands of northern Norway, where a chain of small islands and bridges sits between Vestfjord and the mountains surrounding Reinefjord. Around 300 people live in the village, which remains an active fishing community with fish reception, processing, and related businesses. Traditional red rorbu fishermen’s cabins stand along the waterfront and on nearby islands, alongside working boats and drying racks for stockfish.
