The Namib Desert, one of the world’s oldest deserts, stretches along the western coast of Namibia, offering a landscape of stunning, otherworldly beauty. The name “Namib” means "vast place," and fittingly so, as this desert spans over 2,000 kilometers and includes some of the tallest sand dunes on Earth, such as those found in Sossusvlei.

The Tikal National Park, 370 square kilometers is part of the even larger Maya Biosphere Reserve. Home of hundred of species, including spider monkeys, toucans and parakeets. Towering above the rainforest are the ruins of Tikal, one of the most magnificent of all the Maya sites.

A little further, on the northern promontory of Karpathos, lies the Diafani village; on the nearby little island of Saria we see Palatia, with ruins of the ancient city of Nisyros.
