Blarney, a village just outside Cork in Ireland, is best known for its legendary Blarney Castle, where travelers from around the world come to kiss the famous Blarney Stone.

Kalmar Union, combination of the crowns of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, effected at Kalmar, Sweden, by Margaret I in 1397. Because all three crowns were elective, the union could not be maintained by inheritance. Margaret's successors controlled Sweden intermittently until Gustavus I of Sweden dissolved the union (1523). Norway became independent in 1814.

Southampton is a city shaped by the sea. Located on the southern coast of England, it has been a key maritime port for centuries. In 1912, the RMS Titanic set sail from its docks, and today, the SeaCity Museum tells the story through the lives of local residents connected to the voyage.
