Erfoud, a desert town in eastern Morocco, is often seen as the last stop before the endless dunes of the Sahara begin. But this oasis holds more than just a convenient location. Known as the "Gateway to the Desert," Erfoud is steeped in history that predates the modern borders of Morocco. It was once a French colonial outpost, and today, its dusty streets and adobe buildings offer a glimpse into a slower, older way of life that still shapes the region’s identity.

Aït Benhaddou, located in southern Morocco along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh, is one of the country’s most iconic historic sites. This fortified village, or ksar, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is admired for its striking earthen clay architecture that rises dramatically from the desert landscape.

Looe is a small seaside town on the south coast of Cornwall, England, divided by the River Looe into East and West Looe and connected by a graceful stone bridge. With origins as a medieval port, the town has long been shaped by fishing and seafaring, traditions that still define its identity today.

Cayo Santa María is a small island off the north coast of Cuba, part of the Jardines del Rey archipelago in Villa Clara Province. It is connected to the mainland by a causeway crossing the shallow waters of the Bahía de Buenavista. The island is known for white-sand beaches, clear Caribbean water, coastal lagoons, mangroves, and low limestone terrain.

There is a whole host of wildlife on Moreton Island which you can see on the numerous beaches, and along the walking and 4WD trails. Many wading birds can be found on the island, in particular between September and April when many birds migrate from other countries. You may also be lucky enough to see Green and Loggerhead Turtles which often nest between November - February.
