Zomba is a city in southern Malawi situated at the foot of the Zomba Plateau, a large mountain massif rising above the surrounding Shire Highlands. The city is known for its tree-lined streets, cooler climate, and access to forested mountain landscapes. Zomba Plateau dominates the local scenery, with steep slopes, streams, waterfalls, and broad viewpoints overlooking the plains below.

Monterrey, the capital of Nuevo León, stands at the foot of the Sierra Madre Oriental and has long been recognized as one of Mexico’s most industrial and innovative cities. The Macroplaza is one of the largest public squares in Latin America and links historic buildings like the 18th-century Metropolitan Cathedral with newer sites like the Museo de Historia Mexicana and the Faro del Comercio, a towering orange structure that beams a green laser across the sky each night.

Lower Zambezi National Park is a protected area in eastern Zambia, lying along the northern bank of the Zambezi River opposite Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools. The park covers a broad area of woodland, open grassland, riverine forest, lagoons, and seasonal floodplains. The Zambezi is central to the landscape, providing water for wildlife and shaping habitats along the park’s southern boundary.

Located west of Paris, it is famous for its race track and the annual 24 hour Grand Pris auto race.

Periyar is a forested highland destination in Kerala’s Idukki district, centered on the Periyar Tiger Reserve and the town of Thekkady. Set within the Western Ghats, the region combines wooded hills, evergreen forests, grasslands, streams, and the large Periyar Lake. The tiger reserve covers about 925 square kilometres and supports an extensive range of wildlife. Its landscape is particularly associated with Asian elephants, Bengal tigers, gaur, sambar deer, wild dogs, and rich birdlife.
