The town stretches along a scenic road framed by red rock cliffs that rise sharply on either side, creating a setting that feels closely tied to the land around it. Visitors often find that even a simple walk through town offers uninterrupted views of sandstone formations that shift in color throughout the day, from pale orange to deep red.
Inveraray, a small town on the western shore of Loch Fyne in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, offers visitors a glimpse into 18th-century planning and Highland heritage. Built largely in the mid-1700s under the direction of the 3rd Duke of Argyll, the town features Georgian architecture, wide streets, and an unusual level of symmetry for a rural Scottish settlement. The main street, lined with whitewashed buildings, leads down to the loch’s edge, where fishing boats and leisure vessels come and go.

The city is also closely associated with Saint Augustine, who served as bishop of Hippo, giving Annaba an important place in the religious and intellectual history of North Africa.
St Kilda is a remote volcanic archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, far west of Scotland’s Outer Hebrides. The group consists of Hirta, Dun, Soay, and Boreray, along with numerous sea stacks and smaller formations. No permanent civilian population lives on St Kilda today, although conservation workers, researchers, and Ministry of Defence personnel occupy Hirta at various times.
