Pangnirtung is an Inuit community on the eastern shore of Cumberland Peninsula on Baffin Island, Nunavut, overlooking the sheltered waters of Pangnirtung Fiord. Steep mountains and rocky slopes rise around the settlement, while the fiord opens toward the larger waters of Cumberland Sound. The community is often called the gateway to Auyuittuq National Park, which lies nearby across dramatic Arctic terrain.

Adiyaman makes a good base from which to visit Nemrut Dagi National Park. The engineering involved in creating the artificial tumulus- flanked by terraces on which rest the colossal statues of Apollo, Zeus, Heracles, Tyche and Antiochus - continue to amaze visitors.
