Bar, a coastal town in Montenegro, is known for its scenic beaches and centuries-old landmarks. One of the town’s most significant historical sites is Stari Bar, an ancient fortress settlement set against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Rumija.

Llandudno has two beaches on either side of the town. The quieter West Shore with it's sandy beach has a view of the Conwy Estuary, Isle of Anglesy and Puffin Island, site of a Cistercian monastery. Spanning over two miles of the crescent bay is the North Shore. On the pier there are places of amusement including Professor Peabody's Playplace containing supervised activities for the children. On the opposite side is Craig-Y-Don, a paddling pool for the toddlers.

The capital, 450-year-old Asuncion ("Mother of Cities") merits a visit of unhurried nights - that way, you'll have time to sit in the main square and people-watch. The shopping in this grand city of 729,000 is the finest the country offers, and the cathedral and archaeological museum are both highlights. The governmental architecture is interesting; don't miss the Congressional Palace, Customs House and Government Palace (in the style of the Louvre).

The Elbe is one of the Central Europe's greatest rivers, rising in the northern Czech Republic, traversing through Bohemia and Germany, and flowing into the North Sea not far from Hamburg. The river and its route have been largely untouched, so wildlife visibly abounds along its wetlands and wooded regions. Other scenery includes terraced vineyards and charming wine villages.
