St. Julians was originally a tiny fishing village, built round a small bay. It has retained most of its charm, thanks to some sympathetic restoration. The Whitsunday Islands sit in the heart of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, where more than 70 islands rise from wide blue seas and offer an invitation to explore. Whitsunday Island itself is the largest of this group, known internationally for its ribbon of white silica sand stretching over seven kilometers at Whitehaven Beach. This sand feels cool underfoot even in warm sunshine because it’s made of nearly pure silica carried there by ancient ocean currents.

Braga, one of Portugal’s oldest and most vibrant cities, blends deep religious heritage with a youthful, energetic spirit. Founded over two millennia ago by the Romans as Bracara Augusta, the city has long been a center of faith and culture, earning it the nickname “the Rome of Portugal.”

A fishing port and seaside resort in a picturesque location. The old town is dominated by a castle (7th century). The cathedral (1279) is notable for its admirable sculptures and paintings as well as its Arab-Norman bell tower. The mausoleum of Lucius Munatius Plancus, an impressive Roman monument, is cylindrical in shape and 13 meters high. The sanctuary of Montagna Spaccata is at Punta della Trinità, where you can see a chasm which is traditionally said to have opened up on the death of Jesus.
