Among the stunningly snow-capped Swiss Alps, Zermatt is a charming ski resort town in Switzerland. Situated near the iconic Matterhorn peak, Zermat is the perfect destination for skiing, snowboarding, and hiking.
Greece is a country where layers of history sit side by side with everyday life. In Athens, visitors can stand at the foot of the Acropolis and look up at the Parthenon, built more than 2,400 years ago, then walk a few blocks to modern cafes buzzing with conversation and music. The city’s neighborhoods, like Plaka and Monastiraki, offer both ancient ruins and small family-run shops selling handmade sandals and olive oil soap.
Lucca, a Tuscan city surrounded by remarkably intact Renaissance walls, offers more than just postcard views. Known for its quiet streets and grand piazzas, Lucca stands apart with its circular street layout, still following the lines of a Roman amphitheater from centuries ago. The walls, now repurposed as a 4-kilometer tree-lined park, are a favorite route for locals and visitors who explore them on foot or by bike, passing old bastions and panoramic viewpoints along the way.

ANN ARBOR -- Long regarded as one of the freest-thinking college towns in the U.S., Ann Arbor is home to the University of Michigan, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Domino's Pizza. While you're in Ann Arbor, be certain to see the city's many fascinating historic buildings (including the Gothic-style Law Quadrangle at the university and the restored and refurnished Greek Revival Kempf House); the Kelsey Museum of Ancient and Medieval Archaeology; and Kerrytown (a diversity of specialty shops and eateries in restored 19th-century buildings close to the Farmers Market). We recommend at least a day in Ann Arbor. Amid the noteworthy events on Ann Arbor's calendar are the Summer Festival of the Performing Arts (mime, dance, theater, music, lectures, films and exhibits, June-July) and the Ann Arbor Art Fair (a juried show with more than 1,000 exhibitors, July).
