Horton Plains National Park is a high-altitude protected area in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, covering a landscape of grasslands, cloud forest, marshes, and rocky slopes. Located near Nuwara Eliya, the park sits at elevations above 2,000 metres, giving it a cool and often misty climate. Its open plateaus contrast with dense patches of montane forest, while streams and small waterfalls drain the high ground.

Queenstown started off as a major gold mining area, based around the Queen River Valley. This then developed into a profitable copper mining area, which was still running until 1969. There are a variety of things to do in Queenstown, and it is a good base from which to explore western Tasmania.

Haputale is a hill town in Sri Lanka’s Badulla District, set along a narrow mountain ridge surrounded by tea-covered slopes and forested highlands. Its elevated position gives the town a cool climate and broad views across the valleys of the southern and eastern hill country. Tea cultivation is central to the surrounding landscape, with estates covering the steep hillsides and winding roads connecting plantations and villages.

Flores is the capital of Guatemala's Petén department and occupies a small island in Lake Petén Itzá, connected to the mainland by a causeway. The compact island is known for its colorful buildings, narrow streets, waterfront promenade, and views across the lake. Flores also serves as a base for exploring the archaeological and natural attractions of northern Guatemala.

Gjirokaster is Albania's second museum city, where you can see the Fortress with its Armory Museum and the Teque Mosque and Bazaar. A city of stone, the peculiarities of its construction have led many to call it the "The Silver City". Gjirokaster is the birthplace of Enver Hoxja who was, until recently, Albania's infamous dictator.
