Located at the foot of the Pyrenees in southwestern France, Lourdes is best known for the Marian apparitions reported by 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous in 1858. These events transformed the small market town into one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, which includes the Grotto of Massabielle, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and the underground Basilica of St. Pius X, draws millions each year.
One of Japan's 60 core cities, Aomori is well-known for its beautiful landscapes. Favorite landscapes include the Hakkoda Mountains and Lake Towada. Another of the city's highlights is the Nebuta Matsuri, an annual festival known for its daily parade of giant, colorful lantern floats.
Nearly 80% of the city was destroyed in WWII. It is now known for its many museums, including the Museum of Tapestry, the Brothers Grimm Museum and Fredericianum Museum.
Situated at the foot of Mont Collon, the small village of Arolla is a popular starting point for summer mountain hikes as well as a common stop on the Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route expeditions. In the winter, it's a small ski resort with five lifts and guaranteed snow thanks to the elevation.
There is a whole host of wildlife on Moreton Island which you can see on the numerous beaches, and along the walking and 4WD trails. Many wading birds can be found on the island, in particular between September and April when many birds migrate from other countries. You may also be lucky enough to see Green and Loggerhead Turtles which often nest between November - February.

A resort city popular with locals and tourists alike, Balneário Camboriú entices visitors with beautiful beaches, renowned dance clubs and looming skyscrapers. With a vibrant nightlife, modern restaurants, and even the Cristo de la Luz statue overlooking the city, it's often compared to Rio de Janeiro. Its main claim to fame, though, is the city's status as the "capital of electronic music," according to Forbes. Combined with its e-music scene and a unique cable car connecting two of the most popular beaches, make Balneário Camboriú well worth the visit.
