Kennebunkport is a small coastal town with a long maritime history and a character all its own. Originally settled in the 1600s, it grew as a shipbuilding center before becoming a quiet summer escape. Dock Square, the town’s walkable heart, is where visitors can browse local crafts, sample Maine-made ice cream, or pick up a hand-carved wooden buoy as a souvenir.

Kakum National Park is a protected rainforest area in southern Ghana, located near Cape Coast in the Central Region. The park covers a large area of tropical forest with tall trees, dense undergrowth, streams, and shaded paths. It is part of the Upper Guinea Forest ecosystem, one of West Africa’s important remaining rainforest zones. Kakum is particularly known for its canopy walkway, which allows visitors to experience the forest from above the ground.

Xunantunich is a Maya archaeological site in Belize’s Cayo District, located across the Mopan River from the village of San Jose Succotz. The site occupies a limestone ridge overlooking the surrounding countryside and contains six plazas with more than 25 temples and palaces. Its name is commonly translated as “Maiden of the Rock” or “Stone Lady.”

A tributary of the Amazon, the Napo River (Río Napo) originates in the east Andes mountains. It flows east through Ecuador, then southeast into Peru, where it joins the larger river roughly 50 miles downstream from Iquitos.
