Algiers is the capital and largest city of Algeria, occupying a series of hills along the western side of a broad Mediterranean bay. Its landscape combines a historic hillside core, modern districts, busy avenues, and a large waterfront. The white facades of the city rise above the sea, giving Algiers its familiar nickname, “Algiers the White.”

Located just to the north of Lyon, Beaujolais is mainly known for it's winemaking. Beaujolais is written with an 's' because there are 12 of them. Beaujolais Nouveau is the most famous ambassador of the Beaujolais region. But it is simply one of an entire range. The different Beaujolais wines are produced by more than 4 000 vine-growers.

Formerly Mocamedes, this port in southwest Angola has become an important industrial center since a rail line was built in 1905 connecting it with the interior of Angola. In 1967 when iron ore was discovered in Dongo, an additional line was laid and the port was enlarged.

The Beagle Channel, at the southern tip of South America, stretches between Chile and Argentina and offers one of the most striking maritime landscapes in the world. This narrow passage, framed by snow-covered peaks and rocky islands, connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Its waters are calm compared to the open sea, which has made it a historic navigation route for explorers and sailors for centuries.
