Castellina in Chianti
Castellina in Chianti is a hilltop town in Tuscany, set among the vineyards and wooded slopes of the Chianti Classico area between Florence and Siena. Its historic center follows the ridge of a fortified settlement, with stone buildings, narrow streets, and views across the surrounding countryside. The town’s most distinctive structure is the Via delle Volte, a covered passage built into the medieval defensive walls.
Black Hills National Forest
Black Hills National Forest covers a mountainous island of forests in western South Dakota, surrounded by the open plains of the Great Plains. The landscape includes granite peaks, narrow canyons, ponderosa pine forests, lakes, streams, and rolling grasslands. Kerak
Kerak is a fortress town 75 miles (120km) from Amman, and contains one of the two major Crusader castles in the Kingdom. The castle, built to protect the approach to Jerusalem, stands on a craggy plateau 4,300ft above sea level. It was built in the early part of the 12th century and held for 50 years by the Crusaders until they were defeated by Salah al Din (Saladin) in 1189.
