Bastimentos Island is one of the largest islands in Panama’s Bocas del Toro archipelago, off the Caribbean coast in the country’s northwest. Much of the island remains covered by tropical forest, wetlands, mangroves, and coastal vegetation, with small communities located around sheltered bays. Bastimentos is closely associated with the Bastimentos Island National Marine Park, which protects both terrestrial and marine ecosystems around the island.

Manila is the capital of the Philippines and a densely built city on the eastern shore of Manila Bay. Waterberg Plateau National Park is a protected area in central Namibia, known for its long sandstone plateau rising above surrounding savanna and thornbush. The porous sandstone supports permanent springs at the base of the plateau, creating greener habitats than those found across much of the surrounding region.
