Lafayette
Lafayette is often called the heart of Cajun country for good reason. This vibrant city blends French-speaking roots with bold music, rich storytelling, and a culture that doesn’t just celebrate life but dances through it. Originally settled by Acadians expelled from Canada in the 1700s, Lafayette has grown into a lively hub where traditions are preserved and passed down through generations.
Tomar
Tomar sits on the Nabão River in central Portugal as a place where medieval history and everyday life meet in welcoming streets and grand monuments. Just outside the convent walls lies the Pegões Aqueduct, an impressive feat of engineering more than 6 kilometers long that once carried water from distant springs to the hilltop site. Some sections of its arches rise more than 30 meters above the valley floor, making it a striking backdrop for photos.
Tainan
Tainan is a historic city in southwestern Taiwan known for its temples, traditional neighborhoods, food culture, and surviving architectural landmarks. As one of Taiwan's oldest urban centers, it contains a dense collection of religious buildings, historic residences, markets, and former administrative sites. The city is generally low-lying, with coastal plains extending westward toward the Taiwan Strait.
Adak Island
Adak Island lies in the central Aleutian Islands of southwest Alaska, where steep volcanic mountains meet the North Pacific. The community of Adak occupies a sheltered harbor on the island and is one of the few remote Aleutian locations accessible by commercial airline. Much of the island consists of open tundra, rugged slopes, coastal wetlands, and rocky shorelines shaped by strong winds and frequent rain.
Durrës
Founded in the 7th century BC, the city of Durres has been conquered by many invading armies. Although most of these left a few traces in the old town of Durres, the main attraction is the excellent beach near the town. Perhaps the most famous of Albanian beaches, it offers shallow waters close to the shore, which makes it very suitable for families and children.
