Përmet is a small town in southeastern Albania, situated in the Vjosa River valley between the Dangëlli and Trebeshinë mountain ranges. The town's position near the Vjosa and its tributaries gives the area a strong connection to water and mountain environments. Manyeleti Game Reserve is a protected wildlife area in Mpumalanga, forming part of the Greater Kruger ecosystem. It covers about 23,000 hectares and shares unfenced boundaries with Kruger National Park, Timbavati Game Reserve, and Sabi Sand. The name Manyeleti comes from the local Shangaan language and means “place of stars,” reflecting the clear night skies of the Lowveld.

Shangri-La City, formerly known as Zhongdian, was renamed after the fictional paradise of James Hilton's "Lost Horizon" in an effort to promote tourism in 2001. Located in northwestern Yunnan province, Shangri-La is commonly used as a gateway into Tibet.

Situated on the north coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula between a mountain range and the sea is the small town of Grundarfjordur, Iceland.
